Extra tall legs

The height of 196 cm is standard for legs and ladders of most of our kids’ beds. For those who want to sleep even higher, our loft beds and bunk beds may also be equipped with one of the following extra tall legs and ladder options:

Legs and ladder with 228.5 cm height (standard with Students’ Loft Bed): allows high fall protection ⓘ for assembly heights 1 – 6 ⓘ and basic fall protection ⓘ for height 7* ⓘ.
Legs and ladder with 261.0 cm height (standard with Skyscraper Bunk Bed): allows high fall protection ⓘ for assembly heights 1 – 7 ⓘ and basic fall protection ⓘ for assembly height 8* ⓘ.

When purchased together with a bed configuration marked as “in stock”, the delivery time extends to 7 – 9 weeks (untreated or oiled-waxed) or 8 – 10 weeks (white/varnished) because we will then custom-built the entire bed for you with the respective adjustments. (If ordered together with a bed configuration, which we will manufacture for you anyway, the specified delivery time does not change.)

A longer, suitable ladder is also included.

The stated prices apply if you order together with a Loft Bed Adjustable by Age, Bunk Bed, Corner Bunk Bed, Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered, Youth Loft Bed, Youth Bunk Bed or Comfy Corner Bed. The extra tall legs are also available for the other models. To “upgrade” an existing bed, the legs and ladder need to be replaced. You can contact us to enquire about the prices.

Please note that when you opt for a middle swing beam ⓘ it will be positioned higher than the legs of the bed (e.g. at 293.5 cm height, if the legs are 261 cm high and the bed is assembled at height 7 with a high fall guard ⓘ). In contrast, opting for the combination of the Corner Swing Beam with extra tall legs, the swing beam will be at the same height as the legs.

The vertical, wall facing middle beam of beds with extra tall legs ⓘ does not continue down to the floor.

*) If you want to mount one of the bed models at the top height (with basic fall guard) when they include by default only the parts needed for a high fall guard (e.g. the classic bunk bed), it will require extra tall legs and a few additional parts. (Note that the loft bed adjustable by age already includes a basic fall guard for the assembly at height 6, though you can also assemble it – with extra tall legs – at height 7 or 8 without other additional parts.)

Pitched Roof Step

In many cases, you can even fit a bed with a high sleeping level into a room restricted by a pitched ceiling with our Pitched Roof Step.

It shortens the height of the outer legs on one side by 32.5 cm.

The Pitched Roof Step is available for: Loft Bed Adjustable by Age, Bunk Bed, Corner Bunk Bed, Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered, Low Loft Bed and various Both-Up Bunk Beds, also for the lower assembly heights ⓘ.

Corner Swing Beam

The swing beam ⓘ included by default, can be moved from the centre of the bed to the corner (independent from the ladder position). This is particularly practical in combination with the Corner Bunk Bed since the rope will swing more freely this way. Depending on the available space in the room as well as the slide position, this could also be a great option for the Loft Bed Adjustable by Age, the classic Bunk Bed or the Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered. Repositioning the swing beam towards a corner is free of charge when combined with the extra tall legs. The swing beam will then be at the same height as the legs. In this case, please add only the extra tall legs to the shopping cart (not this item “Corner Swing Beam”) and then specify in the “Additional notes and requests” field during checkout step 3 that you want the swing beam in the corner.

Swing Beam in Longitudinal Direction

The swing beam ⓘ can also run in the longitudinal direction (independent of the ladder position). This is recommended if space is limited in the room. Please contact us.

Bed without swing beam (omit swing beam)

All bed models that include a swing beam by default are also available without a swing beam. This is especially useful if you want to reduce the overall height of the bed or if you would like to receive exactly one of the GS-certified bed variants (all the models tested were without a swing beam ⓘ). You can choose the variant directly on the product page for the following models before adding the bed to your shopping cart:

Flat Rungs

As an alternative to the standard round ladder rungs, flat rungs are also available. The contact area for the feet is larger and especially adults perceive them as more comfortable. The edges are rounded.

The Loft Bed Adjustable by Age comes with 5 rungs by default, which is ideal for an assembly up to height 6 (unless you order extra tall legs as well). The highest standard assembly height for the bunk bed is level 5, mounted with 4 rungs.

Play Floor

If one level is predominantly being used for play and rarely for sleeping, it is recommended to equip this level with a Play Floor. The Play Floor offers a closed surface without any gaps. There is also no need for a slatted bed base or mattress.

Select the appropriate play floor size based on your bed’s mattress size below. Here you can also specify whether you wish to order the play floor together with a bed (instead of the slatted bed base), subsequently or in addition to the slatted bed base.
