The Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered is the genius bunk bed variant for narrow kids’ rooms. The in longitudinal direction staggered arrangement of both sleeping levels looks really cool and turns even the smallest children’s bedroom into a beloved indoor-playground for little adventurers. The laterally staggered bunk bed requires a little more wall space than the classic bunk bed, but while appearing a lot more airy and communicative because of the sleeping levels staggered towards each other it remains as sturdy. In addition to two generous sleeping areas you can create a fantastic play den below the top bunk for siblings or twins.
The top bunk of the laterally staggered bunk bed is assembled at height 5 ⓘ (for kids aged 5 and above, according to DIN safety standard for kids aged 6 and above ⓘ), it can also be assembled at height 4 ⓘ (aged 3.5 and above) if requested. The bottom level can be equipped with Baby Gates, if young siblings are to move in.

If you prefer to initially mount the bottom or both sleeping levels at a lower assembly height, please specify this in the “Additional notes and requests” field during checkout step 3 and place the following amount as special request in the shopping cart: select € 50 if you request assembly heights 1 and 4, € 30 if you opt for assembly heights 2 and 4 or 1 and 5.
Like the Corner Bunk Bed, which is suitable for bigger kids’ bedrooms, the kids can enjoy the closeness and easy eye contact with each other with the Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered.
And what if everything changes after the move? With our Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered you are absolutely flexible. Both staggered sleeping levels can be mounted on top of each other like our Bunk Bed the without any additional parts. If you choose mattress size option 90 × 200 cm and 100 × 220 cm you can even turn the bed into a Corner Bunk Bed with one small additional part. And if you suddenly have two kids’ rooms available, the sibling bunk bed can even be turned into one free standing Low Youth Bed and one stand-alone Loft Bed with only a few extra beams.
We offer this particular option for long rooms. This way, the sleeping levels only overlap by a quarter. The child sleeping in the bottom bunk has more headroom and the play den is bigger.

Our Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered is the only laterally staggered bunk bed we know that is incredibly flexible and versatile and fulfils the DIN EN 747 safety standard for “Bunk beds and high beds” at the same time. The TÜV Süd checked the Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered according to the safety standard and carried out extensive strength and durability as well as safety tests. Tested and awarded the GS mark for “Geprüfte Sicherheit” (Tested Safety): the Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered in 80 × 200, 90 × 200, 100 × 200 and 120 × 200 cm with ladder position A, without Swing Beam, equipped with Mouse Theme Boards all around, untreated and oil-waxed. All other configuration variations of the Bunk Bed Laterally Staggered (e.g. different mattress size) also meet all the important safety requirements of the testing standard, including the dimensions permitted for gaps. A month ago, we mounted our pirate ship or fairy airship or aeroplane, also sometimes simply referred to as a bed. We are all extremely excited – both due to the very good quality and, particularly, the fun playtimes for the children.
We would like to thank you for helping us configure the bed exactly how we envisioned it. The assembly went well. Everything fit. It was great fun to screw it all together.
And another thank you that we were already able to survive a few rainy days without any fights or TV. Instead, we went fishing, rescued stuffed animals from the depth of the sea, went on a treasure hunt, took a vacation in a place far, far away…
And an additional thank you from us parents: we can now sleep in a little longer on the weekends because our children simply forget to come and wake us. Both of them have so much imagination. A pirateship and a plane will surely not be the last ideas :)
