We do not sell pre-owned kids’ furniture ourselves, but we offer a second hand platform where our customers can sell their Billi-Bolli kids’ furniture. You’ll need a bit of luck because the second hand beds sell quickly.
We are increasingly receiving inquiries about whether our accessories and conversion parts are compatible with the loft beds and bunk beds from Woodland. We have summarized the most important questions and answers about Woodland beds under Woodland loft beds and bunk beds.

Safety is our top priority, which is why our most popular bed models carry the GS (“Tested Safety”) mark and they get regularly checked by TÜV Süd. All information can be found at Safety and Spacings.
Most of our customer requests are already met by our large variety of available default options. Drilling additional holes (e.g. to mount a helm to the short side) is no problem. If you have any additional special requests, please do not hesitate to contact us, we are happy to discuss the feasibility with you.

Children’s furniture from other manufacturers only seem similar at first glance. A closer look reveals that they differ greatly. For example, our kids’ beds excel in terms of safety and high fall protection. Part of the income is reserved for regular safety checks of many of our models by TÜV Süd and for their GS (“Tested Safety”) mark. For details, see Safety and Spacings.

If you want to put together a cot, we recommend choosing the bed first, then choosing accessories and, if necessary, mattresses. In the 2nd order step, which you can reach via the shopping cart, you enter your address data and choose between delivery and collection. Your shopping cart and your details are saved so that you can carry out the individual steps at different times and also pause and continue later. If you order more than one bed or if you place an order together with friends at the same time (within 3 weeks), you receive a quantity discount on the entire order: 3 % for 2 beds or 5 % for 3 beds. You can choose multiple bed types as well as multiple delivery addresses. The desired delivery dates can also be up to 6 months apart. Simply specify the names and places of residence of the other buyers if applicable.
This is not necessary, since you will get an unlimited availability guarantee from us. You can use your storage space for something else. However, you would save on delivery costs if you order several items directly together with a bed (and in Germany as well as to Austria delivery costs may even be omitted, visit Delivery).
Many of our products are in stock and can be shipped or collected immediately. (→ What bed configurations are in stock?) Bed configurations not in stock will be manufactured individually according to each customer request. Thus, the delivery time depends upon the current workload of our workshop. If you select your desired configuration on the kids’ beds product pages, the respective delivery time will be displayed.

Within Germany and to Austria we always ship bed and extensive accessory orders via HERMES two-man handling right to the kid’s room. In certain individual cases (e.g. if you request a fixed date) we deliver the parcels in consultation with you on a pallet free kerbside by forwarding agent.
If the delivery address is in a different country, the order will always be delivered free kerbside.
Parcels can be carried by 1 – 2 people (no parcel weighs more than 30 kg).

Our carrier takes care of customs clearance. You get an invoice without the German sales tax, however, you will have to pay Swiss VAT. The carrier will charge up to € 25 extra for issuing the invoice. For more information visit Delivery.
Of course! If you choose to pickup your goods directly from our workshop (25 km east of Munich), you will receive a 5 % discount on your total order, as long as the value of the goods exceeds € 500.
Our beds fit in just about any small car with a trunk lid, as long as the passenger seat can be folded flat. (Pictured is a Renault Twingo.)

If you live in the greater area of Munich, our workshop staff can do the assembly for you. However, customers rarely make use of this option since the assembly is not complicated.
Our kids’ beds grow with your kids. This means that over time you can assemble them at different heights without having to buy additional parts. Here you can find an overview of the possible assembly heights: Assembly heights
To change the height of a sleeping level, the screws connecting the horizontal with the vertical beams must be detached first. Then the beams can be moved and secured at the new height using the grid of holes in the vertical beams. The base frame remains mounted.

Absolutely, our modular system enables you – depending on the bed model you start with and the desired conversion model – to continue to use most of the original parts. This way you only have to buy the additionally required parts from us to transform your bed from one model to another. For the most popular conversion sets see Conversion & Expansion Sets. You can also receive an offer for other conversion options by sending us your request.
When you buy one of our beds, it may be worthwhile to think about the future: for example, if you intend to later mount an adjustable loft bed even higher than is already possible with the standard parts, you can order the bed with extra tall legs right from the start. This is not only cheaper but will make the conversion much easier since you will not need to replace the legs and the ladder at one point.
Yes, we just have to lower the swing beam ⓘ or you order the bed without the swing beam.
The assembling times vary; in about four hours it will surely be assembled. Depending on your skill and previous experience it may take you less time.
In general, we recommend the oil-wax treatment. The oil-wax we use saturates the wood fibres and prevents dirt from entering. The surface is slightly smoother and any dirt can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. Those who have time and would like to cut costs can also apply the treatment on their own.
For a naturally-oiled bed, we use the oil-wax “Gormos” by the manufacturer Livos. It contains only pollutant-free substances and loses its smell shortly after application. If you opt for a honey colour oil-treatment, we use a product from Leinos.
We can send you the technical information sheet of the oil-wax we use. The ingredients are listed, so you can discuss them with your doctor and then decide.
Beech is the best wood for a colour varnish. In rare cases, small spots of discolouration can occur with pine, even several years later. The resin content of this wood type can cause this. With our water-based paints, discolourations cannot safely be ruled out and this does not constitute a reason for complaint. However, a discoloured spot can be easily painted over if necessary.
That’s no problem, just order the individual parts without surface treatment.
Due to the increased demand for beech and pine wood, we have been focusing on these two wood types since 2014. We therefore removed spruce wood as a regular option for our products.
If you have a Billi-Bolli bed made of spruce and would like to convert it or add accessories, we recommend that you order the additional parts in pine. When placing your order, let us know that your bed is made of spruce (e.g. via the “Additional notes and requests” field during checkout step 3). Then we will make sure to use only wood pieces for your products with the least reddish spots, which is characteristic of pine. Due to the overall somewhat darker appearance of pine, the parts will match your probably already darkened spruce bed discretely.
However, if you still want to have accessory or extension parts made of spruce, you can get them from us at the equivalent pine price plus 50 %. To order spruce, place the pine product variants into the shopping cart and check the box next to “TODO” during checkout step 2. Please indicate in the “Additional notes and requests” field that you request spruce wood. Then you will receive an e-mail from us with the spruce prices and payment information. Alternatively, you are also welcome to send us an e-mail with your order requests. Please note that we do not have spruce wood in stock and that the delivery time is approx. 10 weeks.
For our children’s beds we recommend the use of mattresses with a minimum thickness of 10 cm. However, the thickness should not exceed 20 cm (for sleeping levels with high fall guard ⓘ) and 16 cm (for sleeping levels with basic fall guard ⓘ) respectively.
Our ecological mattresses by Prolana and these foam mattresses complement our kids’ beds perfectly.
The surface area of sleeping levels equipped with protection boards (the standard configuration for e.g. the kids’ loft bed and the upper sleeping levels of all bunk beds) is slightly narrower than specified because the boards ⓘ are attached on the inside. If you already have a mattress for children that you would like to continue to use, it needs to be somewhat flexible to fit. However, if you are intending to buy a new mattress anyway, we recommend that you order a 3 cm narrower version of the respective children or teen mattress (e.g. 87 × 200 cm instead of 90 × 200 cm) for a less tight fit with the protection boards and it will also make changing the sheets easier. For all the mattress sizes we offer, you have the option to choose the 3 cm narrower variant.

In our beds, you can use lightweight water mattresses of up to 200 kg. We recommend our special floor rather than a slatted bed base as a support surface (€ 150 for mattress widths 80, 90 or 100 cm, € 190 for 120 or 140 cm, oil-waxed + € 30).
